Tyburn Convent

Newcastle, South Africa

The new convent, with the Rowland Park precinct in Newcastle, will be home to a community of twenty two contemplative nuns. The chapel links the cloistered convent to the public area of the precinct; accommodation on two levels faces north west to the distant escarpment, while service wings form screened garden courtyards behind. A guest lodge and coffee shop are part of the complex. Extensive food gardens form an integral part of the development.
