ICAO Critical Buildings

Sikuphe International Airport, Eswatini

The new airport is located near Mpaka in the Swaziland Lowveld. The ICAO Critical buildings comprise the Air Traffic Control Centre, the Tower, the Rescue and Firefighting facility. The tower housing elevator and stair in a triangular plan,  slip-formed reinforced concrete tube topped by a structural steel and aluminium clad canopy.  The fire station has a long low sculpted roof with the emergency control office at it’s head.
