Roosboom, South Africa
The new Catholic Church is located in an area close to the old town of Ladysmith in KwaZulu-Natal, which was the subject of forced removals by the apartheid regime. The church was demolished in 1970 and the foundations of the original church are preserved next to the new church.
The church is a simple rectangle with pitched roof similar in style to the original but has a generous and welcoming entrance veranda.
Fair face clay brick and collar truss and rafter roof structure make an elegant and textured interior.
