Baylor College of Medicine Paediatric Centre of Excellence

Maseru, Lesotho

The Centre is located close to Maseru. Lesotho and is the result of a partnership between the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas and the Ministry of Health. to house the Baylor International Paediatric HIV Aids Initiative. Six centres built to the same design have been constructed across South and East Africa. Each Centre comprises two floors, with treatment facilities at ground level, staff and training facilities above. The Centres are defined by tall entrance verandas, which provide shade and a sense of welcome to patients and visitors. Stonework particular to the location is used in accent walls. The first Centre completed was in Lesotho.

The Centres were undertaken with GMB, Maryland, as Project Managers.
